Firefox 2.0.0.9 released – fixes broken layout CSS Bugs
If you are a Firefox user, you will more than likely use the automatic upgrade feature of the browser. This is great as it always ensures that you have the latest patches, security fixes and enhancements. However, it also means that will get some ‘additional features’ that should not have made it to the release version.
One of these ‘features’ is the bug that appeared in the Mid October 2007 (Version 2.0.0.8) of the browser. If you have this version and your website uses the ‘Holy Grail’ of table-less layouts (read the article on A List Apart) , you will have noticed something strange happening. Without going into too much detail (read the Mozilla Bug Report if you want to know more), if you employed this technique, you would probably find that sidebars were being cut off at the height of the main content.
Thankfully, Mozilla have really pulled their finger out on this one, and solved, tested and released the new version 2.0.0.9 today. If you haven’t been prompted to get it, download it here.
